wii music

October 28th, 2008 by admin

I saw a commercial for the wii music game the other day. I thought the idea was grand and i remember reading about it a few months ago. I think that the game developers at nintendo are doing a great job. They created a game console that uses motion sensor technology. This give them the freedom to come up with some clever never done before games. I have a lot of wii games at my house. Wii music will be another welcome addition to my game portfolio. If you would like to find out more about it, do some searches about wii music.

The game lets you play a lot of different musical instruments. I am curious as to how the game will be set up. I hope that they make it a bit different from the popular guitar hero series.

I will report more news about the wii as it comes in.

Prices of games

July 17th, 2008 by admin

Like i mentioned in my earlier post, i was at best buy to check up on a few video games. I also looked around at laptops and digital cameras. I just love looking the new the tech gear and comparing prices. The internet is the best place to find these type of deals. You will save ten and sometimes hundreds of dollars if you buy tech stuff online. But if you’re going to buy retail, costco or best buy is your best bet. Circuit city and other chains are a rip off.

I was comparing the prices of games and it got me thinking. Why are certain games prices the way they are. Did the marketing team over at the distributor company do test studies. Do they have focus groups? I think the tech industry makes a lot of money off of consumer ignorance. I was also looking at laptops and i saw two toshiba laptops that were priced differently. One was 799 dollars and the other was 599. Both systems have the same type of processor. One had less ram and less hard disk space. Guess which one that was? You are wrong if you guess the cheaper one. The 599 dollar toshiba laptop was a better computer. I wonder if they sell the higher priced inferior model to unsuspecting newbies.

Nintendo Wii ultra sensitive controls

July 16th, 2008 by admin

Nintendo Wii announced that they are coming out with motion sensor controls that are more sensitive. This will make game play a lot smoother and more realistic. The latest rage in video gaming is music games. The popularity of Guitar Hero and Rock Band have made the first person shooter a thing of the past. Well, not really, but you get my point.

There are a lot of tech types who made mods using the motion sensors of the wii mote. Some of the hacks turned out pretty good. You can use the wiimote and sensor to create a virtual world on the tv set. Spacial clarity and location can really make it a true interactive virtual environment. Game developers should rush to start making games that are more high tech and before you know it, it’ll be like we are living in a Tron world.

I am excited to be living in this generation. I know that my kids will have super high tech gaming consoles and games. But, they won’t know how it all started. I grew up during the gaming revolution. I saw and played pong and donkey kong. I can draw upon the history that i witnessed and truly appreciate the newer high tech games.

Resell value of games and consoles

July 9th, 2008 by admin

nintendo 64The Nintendo Wii still has a very high resell value. I bought my Wii for $250 but i could still probably sell it on Ebay for around that price. Of course, i have to include a couple of games. But if you consider this, it’s such a great deal. You guy a game console for $250. You play for for a year and sell it when you get bored of it. I think the advent of internet auction sites has created a new used goods industry. This industry is strong. The used game market is big business.

Gamestop and other video game giants make a lot of money dealing with used games and consoles. I wonder if i can still sell my Nintendo 64? The only problem is that if you go back two generations, the hardware and software become worthless. Games from video consoles two generations ago fetch less then a dollar.

July 9th, 2008 by admin

mario kartMario Kart Wii is similar to the game that you have come to love over the years. All of your favorite characters are back for the Wii version of Mario Kart. This time, you take the steering while by the hand. The game play is enhanced by the wiimote and steering wheel. You can how really pretend that you’re skidding across the ice and flying thru the air. The game lets you race along a lot of new courses. You are sure to burn a lot of calories playing this game. You should play this game standing up if you want to work those extra muscles. Mario Kart is not a normal Wii Diet game, but i have to include it because it’s been one of my favorite games for like forever. Ever since it game out in super nintendo, this game has been a must have.

Wii Diet Super Smash Bros. Brawl

July 5th, 2008 by admin

super smash bro brawlI rented Super Smash Bros. Brawl from Blockbuster the other night. I have to say that this game is pretty freaking sweet. The graphics is actually really amazing considering that it’s on the Wii. It seems like it’s on the Playstation 3 or something. I grew up playing Super Mario Bros on my NES. I would also go to the arcade to play Street Fighter years later. This game is like the perfect mix of the two. You can all of your favorite Mario characters with the game play of Street Fighter.

This game is not necessarily a Wii Diet game, but if you get really into it, you’ll burn some calories. I like to play with my nephew and he gets me pretty active. I have to dodge his real kicks while we play the game. If you Haven’t gotten around to playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl, i highly recommend you pick it up. It’s a great addition to the Wii Diet.

Wii Boxing Wii Diet

July 5th, 2008 by admin

wii boxing, wii dietWii boxing is by far the best way to Wii Diet. I think you burn the most calories by playing this game. You have to get into it to feel the full effects. Don’t just plant your feet either. Be like Ali and dance around in front of you TV set. Float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. Wii Boxing is part of the Wii sports package. It comes free when you buy your Wii console. I recommend that you buy an additional wiimote and nun chuck cause this game is best play with a friend.

I haven’t gotten the chance to play the Wii Fit yet. But it still might be hard to beat Wii Boxing as far as dieting is concerned. I think Nintendo should come out with more games like this. They obviously are good with motion sensor technology, so they should keep making new games and controllers. They should make more Wii Diet games.

Who’s winning in the new game console wars?

July 3rd, 2008 by admin

wii marioIt looked like Nintendo was killing the competition early on in the year and it still looks like Nintendo is the best. I read an article about Sony losing millions because the playstation 3 isn’t selling as well as it was expected. They had to lower the price for these super fast machines, but sales still didn’t come close to expectations. Video console makers usually don’t profit off the machines. They profit when the games get popular and they profit mostly from the games. The hardware is usually made at a loss. Nintendo on the other hand profits from every unit sold. They were able to price the Nintendo Wii low and still make a profit off of it. Amazing! Nintendo wii also has a great marketing and business strategy. The nintendo wii appears to be cheaper then the rest, but when you add in all the remotes and do hickies, the cost runs similar to the xbox 360 or ever the playstation 3.

The marketing team at nintendo is amazing. They are true marketing geniuses. It seems like every new remote or game they launch, it sells out. They are either limit the production to create a demand. The wii fit sells on ebay even still for over the retail cost. I am still looking for the wii fit to hit shelves again cause i want to pick it up.

Wii diet shouldn’t just be about working out the body

July 3rd, 2008 by admin

brain academyI decided to not limit this blog for wii (workout) diet stuff. I think video games can be good for the brain as well. When i was growing up, my mother used to always tell me that i should be reading books, not playing video games. I wish i didn’t listen to her. I have a college education and am not happy. I wish that i got more involved in video games. Maybe i would have an awesome high paying job as a video game guy. What if i started my own video game company.

In a way, video games are the books of the modern age. Books were written as record keeping devices. I think it helped out in the rapid progress of man. But, it was also a form of entertainment. Reading makes our brain work out. In a way, certain video games do the same thing. Certain strategy games force you to make quick decisions. You have to develop hand eye coordination if you want to be a good videogame guy.

Nintendo has a lot of good educational games. Nintendo ds has brain age and brain academy. Nintendo wii also has brain academy and i’m sure they’ll develop more educational games.
