Wii Diet Super Smash Bros. Brawl

July 5th, 2008 by admin

super smash bro brawlI rented Super Smash Bros. Brawl from Blockbuster the other night. I have to say that this game is pretty freaking sweet. The graphics is actually really amazing considering that it’s on the Wii. It seems like it’s on the Playstation 3 or something. I grew up playing Super Mario Bros on my NES. I would also go to the arcade to play Street Fighter years later. This game is like the perfect mix of the two. You can all of your favorite Mario characters with the game play of Street Fighter.

This game is not necessarily a Wii Diet game, but if you get really into it, you’ll burn some calories. I like to play with my nephew and he gets me pretty active. I have to dodge his real kicks while we play the game. If you Haven’t gotten around to playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl, i highly recommend you pick it up. It’s a great addition to the Wii Diet.

Wii Boxing Wii Diet

July 5th, 2008 by admin

wii boxing, wii dietWii boxing is by far the best way to Wii Diet. I think you burn the most calories by playing this game. You have to get into it to feel the full effects. Don’t just plant your feet either. Be like Ali and dance around in front of you TV set. Float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. Wii Boxing is part of the Wii sports package. It comes free when you buy your Wii console. I recommend that you buy an additional wiimote and nun chuck cause this game is best play with a friend.

I haven’t gotten the chance to play the Wii Fit yet. But it still might be hard to beat Wii Boxing as far as dieting is concerned. I think Nintendo should come out with more games like this. They obviously are good with motion sensor technology, so they should keep making new games and controllers. They should make more Wii Diet games.

Exclusive Wii

July 3rd, 2008 by admin

nintendo dsThe Nintendo Wii works because they hold exclusive rights to the most important franchise in video game console history. They own the exclusive rights to Mario. Mario is a big brand in it of itself. Everybody recognizes the overalls and the red top. Everybody knows his “haha” laungh. A lot of people know the supporting cast of the mario series. Princess Peach, Toad, Luigi, Yoshi. I can go on and on.

When you have an exclusive brand, you don’t have to worry that much about the competition. I remember when Nintendo DS was the underdog in the portable video game console industry. Nintendo’s gameboy was the clear market leader until Sony announced it’s PSP. It was sexier and more powerful. It could even play movies. The only problem was that the older teen crowd was already getting their portable entertainment fix with the ipod. They didn’t want to buy little chips or disks. What’s is up with Sony and disks? Did the Mini Disc ever fly in North America? Nope.

Anyway, because of the exclusive games, nintendo was able to survive the sexy new PSP. And when Nintendo did a makeover and make the DS more Apple like, they won. Who owns a PSP now? I don’t even know what happened to my PSP. I think i sold it on pennysaver or ebay or something. But i still have my DS. I like to play harvest moon and advance wars.

Paper Mario on the Wii

July 3rd, 2008 by admin

paper marioI think every video gamer loves the super mario franchise. What’s not to love? It features a overall wearing Italian plumber jumping around and crushing green shell turtles. That was a mouthful. The cool think about Paper mario is the graphics. It features a 2D mario in a semi 2D world. The kicker is that you get flashes of 3D controls to get to secret levels and stages. I like that you can control mario like how i used to back in the day. I just tilt the wiimote and i have a classic nes controller. I love how multifunctional the wiimote is. Too bad it’s kinda expensive. The nintendo wii is the cheapest of the new game consoles, but the wiimotes are the most expensive. At $50 a pop, they’re not cheap. You can trade in 5 wiimotes and get yourself a new nintendo wii system. Again, great marketing and great business to sell components at a premium.

When i first got paper mario, i was playing it every day for a whole week and a half. But after i started getting into blogging, i stopped playing my wii. I still fiddle with it from time to time. I try to follow my strick wii diet as well.

Remember the games of yesteryear

June 25th, 2008 by admin

pacmanThe nintendo wii is not the most advance game console out in the market today. The playstation 3 has the most power and xbox 360 has the dominate market share. But, the wii is growing. Nintendo was able to get the whole family involved. The easy to use motion sensor controls allow the wii to be played by every member of you household. Even grandmothers are playing the wii. I think that’s why the wii can be used as a diet and exercise program. Nintendo is smart for tapping into this market. The upper level employee at Nintendo know that most video gamers are out of shape. They know that America is out of shape. They know that people spend a lot of money on diets and work out programs. If you are not convinced of this, you should watch some late night TV.

The good folks at Nintendo came up with a brilliant idea. They made the wii truely interactive. They forced the players to move around their body. In order to play the wii games, you have to use the motion sensor control pad. And since you control the control pad with your hands, you have to swing those arms. This burns calories and hence you have the wii workout.

Can you imagine if wii makes the games of yesterday available? How awesome would it be to be able to control donkey kong with your wii controler. When you play pacman, you have to actually move around the room to eat up all those dots. And you have to run away from those pink and red ghosts. I think it would be totally awesome.

Games you can play on the wii diet

May 20th, 2008 by admin

wii-fit.jpgList of Nintendo Wii games that can be played for the wii diet. The idea behind the wii diet is that you burn calories by moving your body during game play. If you really get into the game, you will be surprised to find yourself sweating. I usually play wii boxing and wii tennis to burn calories. I mix in the daily wii training and i know that i’ve burned a few calories. The plus side is that it’s pretty fun to play.

It’s important to not be lazy. When you’re playing these games, it’s important to go through the full motion. Don’t just half swing your back stroke. Go and put your back into it. Remember, that the more you move, the more calories you will burn. Here are a few games you can play on the wii diet.

1. Wii Fit- Don’t half ass the routines. Play the games that make you move. Do full stretches and pull exercise.

wii_sports_tennis.jpg2. Wii Sports. Get in the habit of doing a full swing. When you’re punching or swinging the wii-mote, get into it. don’t just shake or twist it. Swing it.

guitar_hero.jpg3. Wii Guitar Hero 3. It’s important to be standing while you play. Try to move around your hips to the music. When the energy bar comes up, you should jump instead of just shaking the guitar.

dance-dance-revolution.jpg4. Wii Dance Dance Revolution. When you step on the controler pad, try to lift up your legs as high as possible. Wear socks when you play and try to move up in skill level so you can hit the faster songs.

Wiifit and Wii Dieting

May 19th, 2008 by admin

wiifit.jpgNintendo is coming out with a new game and controller. Wiifit is a game that uses a balancing platform to control the functions of the game. You can play a variety of excersise related games with the Wiifit controller. Much like the motion sensor games of wii sports, wii fit will help you move you body. And we all know that dieting works much better when you move your body.

The great thing about Wii Fit is that the games play like an excersise video. You can do stretching exercises and yoga on the Wii Fit. The game will record your progress much like wii sports. I think mixing in a daily routine of wii sports and wii fit will greatly reduce your waist line. Of course, you should also watch your caloric intake.

Nintendo is planning to lauch a diet game

November 27th, 2007 by admin

wii diet gameWith the popular wii sports making video game players sweat, Nintendo is finding a new niche for the gaming industry. If you’ve ever played wii sports you know that you really can burn a few calories by playing the video game. It’s an amazing idea but its true. I bought a wii for my mother in law and my nephew. Both love it equally. I have the wii at my condo and whenever a few friends come, we have a mini olympics at my house.

Nintedo also has the dance dance revolution game out now. Just as the nintendo ds change the way video games are used with the brain age series, nintendo wii will change the way calories are burned. Wii is to fitness what the ds is to brain. Huh?
