It looked like Nintendo was killing the competition early on in the year and it still looks like Nintendo is the best. I read an article about Sony losing millions because the playstation 3 isn’t selling as well as it was expected. They had to lower the price for these super fast machines, but sales still didn’t come close to expectations. Video console makers usually don’t profit off the machines. They profit when the games get popular and they profit mostly from the games. The hardware is usually made at a loss. Nintendo on the other hand profits from every unit sold. They were able to price the Nintendo Wii low and still make a profit off of it. Amazing! Nintendo wii also has a great marketing and business strategy. The nintendo wii appears to be cheaper then the rest, but when you add in all the remotes and do hickies, the cost runs similar to the xbox 360 or ever the playstation 3.

The marketing team at nintendo is amazing. They are true marketing geniuses. It seems like every new remote or game they launch, it sells out. They are either limit the production to create a demand. The wii fit sells on ebay even still for over the retail cost. I am still looking for the wii fit to hit shelves again cause i want to pick it up.
